Howman’s Gap Alpine Centre

Howmans Gap Alpine Centre offers accommodation options for groups of up to 174 people. Situated above the snowline in winter, Howmans Gap accommodation will keep you warm and comfortable all year round.

Howmans Gap camp offers accommodation across one main accommodation block and two small house accommodation options.

All accommodation is fully heated to ensure comfort all year round.

Accommodation blocks have been custom designed to provide wheelchair access, including games room, showers and toilets.

Howmans Gap Main Accommodation

The main accommodation is an L-shaped building and sleeps up to 158 people.

The main building is comprised of:

  • 4 rooms with 1 set of bunk beds
  • 4 rooms with 3 bunks and single bed
  • 18 rooms with 2 bunks and single bed
  • 2 rooms with 2 rooms with 1 bunk and 1 single bed
  • 2 rooms with 3 bunks
  • 6 individual bathrooms
  • 2 main shared bathrooms


Melaleuca Cottage

This self-contained cottage is designed to provide accommodation for smaller groups or for the leaders of larger groups. Melaleuca Cottage sleeps up to 8 people and is often used by families.

The house amenities include:

  • 3 bedrooms with shared bathrooms
  • Queen size bed
  • 1 room with 1 bunk
  • 1 room with 2 bunks
  • Lounge/dining area
  • Fully equipped kitchen area
  • Washing machine and dryer
  • DVD player

Cedar House

This self-contained house is also designed to provide accommodation for smaller groups or for the leaders of larger groups. Cedar house sleeps up to 8 people and is often used by families.

The house amenities include:

  • 4 bedrooms with shared bathroom
  • Queen size bed
  • Bunks in 3 rooms
  • Lounge/dining area
  • Fully equipped kitchen area
  • Washing machine and dryer
  • DVD player
  • Outdoor decking overlooking the rest of the camp and views up into the hills
